Culture of Respect

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

In order to foster an overall culture of respect that is embedded throughout the ACE Tech community, all employees must commit to and build on the belief that it is essential to a successful learning environment. This belief is built on the acknowledgement that there is strength in diversity. It is important that we model the behavior in our day-to-day activities. Characteristics of this belief system include:

Open and effective communication;

High expectations for staff and students that are reasonable, clear and transparent;

Respect for different points of view;

Civility in our interactions;

Team building and working together as a team;

Recognizing every employee’s contributions;

Trust in each other.

What are the structures and support necessary to ensure that this belief system is effective?

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

This is a very exciting time to be involved in the political process. Many of our students are voting for the first time. It would be interesting to know what issues are of interest to these first time voters.

Partnerships

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Successful student learning is the responsibility of the entire ACE Tech community; students, parents, teachers, staff, administration, the Board of Directors. ACE Tech supports partnerships with the extended community that encourage student development and success.

Strategies:

Increase public awareness and understanding of the roles of Friends of ACE (PTA);

Increase parental understanding of and involvement in student learning through increased communication from the schools;

Continuation and expansion of partnerships within the educational and construction industries;

Further development of community service initiatives including recruitment of businesses to support those initiatives.

What are the indicators of success in this area?
